~~~What we do in House Of Change ?
We provide housing for men and women that are in various situations that require intensive treatment such as Recovering drug abusers, alcoholism, and ex felons that has served time in the NYS Correctional or State facilities as well as The federal Beaurau Of Prisons in which we supervise all clients and work with the Department of Parole as well. In this house, the clients are renewed, reformed, and revived for their destiny. Those are the three R's in which we stand by in the House Of Change. House Of Change is located in the heart of the Brownsville Section of Brooklyn, New York. Our clients are offered an enviornment in which they can strive toward rebuilding there lives one day at a time with our help. We provide a safe, weapon , drug free zone, clean enviornment, strict curfew, hygeine, tidiness and zero tolerance for any drama policy. We have staff on site 24/7 ~
The intake process depends on individual situations. For parolees we require a release letter and parole advisment forms which provide parole curfew and report dates as well as the nature of the crime commited and time served . For individuals recovering from drug or alcohol abuse . They are interviewed by staff, given rules, guidelines, a plan of care which includes appointments to The Human Resources Department to establish a source of income, and housing assistance as this is a non-profit organization, food stamps if applicable, and with total compliance to these requirements the client will be assigned to a floor, assigned to a bed and informed of house curfew and other rules such as meeting days and times and etc.
~~~What is Three Quarter Supportive Housing?

This program is less structured than a halfway house and continues to provide a support system for the recovering alcoholic and/or substance abuser. The clients are able to function independently in a work situation.  The three-quarter way house functions as a source of peer support and supportive counseling.  This level of service is designed to promote the maintenance of the client's level of functioning and prepare him/her for independent living.

* Please be reminded that NO this isn't a halfway house , but you would think it is because of how we maintain our house with our Zero Tolerance Policy. For those who aren't ready for a change this isn't a spot for them because everyone here is heading in the right direction and those who don't are discharged and referred to another house ( NO we don't put clients on the street), we are here to help but you have to reach out to us and we will put our best foot forth in your recovery whethere your just coming out of prison or recovering from a substance addiction. Be Inspired~~~

Who are Curtis & Barnett ?

The answer is these two Barnett (Left) Curtis ( Right), are my two right hand men and my co-workers. They hold down the house 24/7 making sure all clients comply with curfew, field appointments, intake, in house meetings, personal hygiene and much more. They are the rock that hold House Of Change together, why? Curtis is a cool brother who has the attitude of a drill seargant so just call him Sgt. Curtis because he shuts down all drama with one raise of his voice and discharges anyone who may be a potential problem to any of the clients which increase saftey in the house with the respect the clients have for him. Barnett is also a cool guy who like Curtis have over the years dealt with many personal situations in the streets of Brooklyn such as drugs, violence, and learned to control and help others in distress now. Over the years they both have aquired a highly skilled talent in street smarts, dealing with the worst ( Ex felons, drug dealers, substannce abusers and etc). This is why they are the best for this type of enviornment. Without them I don't know how things would be without any funding to hire security , because I'm a low key cool person and pretty kind hearted so I'm not really used to dealing with people coming from the streets like Barnett and Curtis especially(They have zero tolerance for drama). I handle the clients more on a spiritual level continuosly expressing the  importance of prayer, cleansing, and forgiveness. So with the three of us there is a great force and I can't ask for any better than these two guys.
